1000 MW solar park is coming up near, Ghani Sakunala, Kurnool District in around 3150 acres. Out of this, Japan's Softbank Corporation has been successful in a bid under India’s National Solar Mission to build a 500 MW solar park. The works are going on in a brisk pace and would be completed by April or May next year. Japan's Softbank Corporation, is going to invite Japan Prime Minister for the inauguration and if everything goes according to the plan, Kurnool will host its first every foreign Prime Minister.

Minister for Health Kamineni Srinivas said the Andhra Pradsh government would provide insurance facility for people in the State. Participating in review meeting with the heads of various departments here on Monday, he said that the scheme would be introduced following the guidelines of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. He hoped that the scheme would help to the people.

The government is exploring the possibility to extend medical insurance facility to everyone in the State. A meeting is held with the senior officials of the Medical and Health Department on October 17 at Velagapudi, to map out the ways and means to extend insurance-based medical services to the people under NTR Vaidya Seva.

Kamineni Srinivas also said that it was decided to establish 'Wellness Clinics" in all schools and colleges in the State, to create awareness among students on various ailments and preventive measures to be taken for the physical and mental health of the students. The clinics Would also take up aWareness programmes on the side effects caused due to tobacco, alcohol and drugs consumption, apart from advising healthy practices in everyday life.

To establish World class hotels and convention centres in Amaravati, the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) on Tuesday will hold discussions with leading international hotels, hotel chains, hotel developers and investors in the hospitality industry at a Workshop here.

Over 20 hospitality chains like ITC Hotels, Leela Hotels, Mahendra Resorts, Holiday Inn and Hilton Hotels have evinced interest in making Amaravati a star studded hospitality hub.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the workshop would present an overall vision of Amaravati, followed by an open forum discussion. In this regard, principal secretary (Energy, I& II, CRIDA) Ajay Jain and APCRDA commissioner Dr. Cherukuri Sreedhar will have an open dialogue with the stakeholders to understand their requirements in this regard.

Mr. Jain said the CRIDA hoped to create excitement among hotel chains as well as investors and developers for Amaravati through the Workshop. He said that the workshop Will involve stakeholders from various Sectors like international Schools, hotel industry, hospitals and IT industry to make them understand the potential of Amaravati City in the respective sectors. It would provide requisite clearances immediately to those interested.

The Andhra Pradesh government has issued Orders relaxing the upper age limit for recruitments through the APPSC and other recruiting agencies from 34 to 40 years. The state government also issued orders raising of upper age limit by 2 years for uniform services for the ensuing direct recruitments through the APPSC and other recruiting agencies.

The orders are valid up to September 30, 2017. Gazette notification to this effect have been issued. The government said for Uniform services to be notified by the APPSC and other recruiting agencies (other than those to be notified by the Police Recruitment Board) the upper age limit prescribed in relevant rules was increased by two years.

The project under name Devlok, which is a Mythological Theme Park is coming up near Alipiri on the foothills of Tirumala.

Vaishnovi Versatile Ventures Pvt is going to construct this under Public Private Partnership with Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department.

The Rs. 750-crore project will be established in around 30-40 acres. This is expected to be completed by 2018 and open to public from dussera 2018.
