Vijayawada city is slowly getting metro culture, with the proposed new capital Amaravati. Vijayawada Hotel Owners Association, requested Vijayawada Police Commissioner Gowtham Sawang to give permission to run the hotels till 12 midnight. Commissioner has accepted the request, but asked hotel owners to take adequate security measures and install CC Cameras. Presently the hotels should close by 10.30 AM. With the new instructions, hotels can remain open till midnight.
The three night food courts in Municipal Stadium, Benz Circle and near Government Music College on BRTS Road are helping the citizens in late night. While hot food is served to customers at these road side shops, there are no facilities for them to sit and have a leisurely meal. Extending of closing time of the hotels, will improve the night life in the city.
