There is good news for the Secretariat employees. A one minute halt to the 12795/96 Vijayawada - Secundrabad-Vijayawada inter-city express at Mangalagiri was announced by the railway ministry.

The railway ministry introduced inter-city express to help the Secretariat employees residing in Hyderabad to reach Temporary Secretariat at Interim Government Complex at Velagapudi in Amaravati. But the employees have to step down at Guntur or Vijayawada and then are forced to travel to Velagapudi On buses covering 22 km from Vijayawada and 38 km from Guntur.

The Hyderabad-based Secretariat employees demanded the government to provide halt at Mangalagiri which is very easy to them to reach Velagapudi by travelling only 14 kms distance.

The Guntur railway officials informed that stoppage for the inter-city express would be given at Mangalagiri from June 16. The 12796 Secundrabad-Vijayawada inter-city express would stop at Mangalagiri at 10:09 am and would leave at 10:10 am. The 12795 Vijayawada-Secundrabad inter-city express will reach Mangalagiri at 5:45 pm and would depart at 5:46 pm.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Inaugurated Pradhama Hospital, a multi-speciality hospital introduced by a group of 60 doctors from Visakhapatnam to serve the less privileged families and other sections of society seeking healthcare assistance.

An air ambulance with roof-top helipad and add-on facilities like wellness centres are in the offing at a 10-floor corporate hospital being opened with an investment of Rs. 220 crore in the heart of the city abutting the National Highway by a team of local doctors.

After obtaining clearance from the Civil Aviation Ministry, the hospital with bed strength of 600, which the management says is the largest so far in the private sector in Andhra Pradesh, is awaiting a ‘no objection certificate’ from the Fire Department and clearances from other statutory agencies.

Air ambulance will be of great help in saving lives of the victims of industrial accidents, those injured in police-Maoist encounters and major road accidents in evacuating the patients within a few minutes to the hospital for expert care.

When major accidents occurred at the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and the HPCL Visakh Refinery, those who suffered serious burns had to be shifted to Mumbai by engaging an air ambulance paying huge amount. Pradhama Hospital will obtain an air ambulance costing Rs. 3 crore in about six months. The building has a built-up area of six lakh sq.ft. with basement parking for 600 cars near Venkojipalem Junction.

It has all super-specialities with 13 stretcher lifts with a carrying capacity of 20 to 30 persons. Three hundred junior doctors will offer 24x7 service with separate burns ward, cardiac, cath lab, blood bank and other facilities.

Blue Print has been prepared for inland water transport system between Kakinada-Pondicherry by The Inland Waterways Authority of India. The plans have been develop for water transportation from Kakinada to Puducherry through the confluence of Godavari-Krishna Rivers.

Steps have been taken to develop 1078 km of water ways and Union Ministry of Shipping and Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari is closely monitoring this project. This 1078 km includes 810 km in Andhra Pradesh, 188 km in Tamil Nadu, 78 km in Telangana, 2 km in Puducherry.

It will develop be developed in 3 phases. In the first phase Rs.96 crores are going to be spent, where the water ways would be developed from Muktyaka to Vijayawada, 82 km along the Krishna river.

Fixed water terminals are going to be constructed at Muktyala, Harichandapuram and Ibrahimatnam. Similarly floating terminals are set up at Vedadri, Amravati, Bhavani Island, Durga ghat.

In the second phase, with Rs.6,919 crores the water ways will be developed between Vijayawada-Kakinada-Rajahmundry-Polavaram.
For this purpose, private lands worth Rs.767 crore are going to be collected by government. 3061.94 acres of government land, worth Rs 2985 crores is going to be transferred. 35.45 million cubic meters dredging works with Rs.453 crores are going to be started.

Terminals will be constructed at Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Thadapalligudem with Rs.2319 crore. 46.24 km of retaining wall will be constructed with a cost of Rs.190 crores. In the third phase, 495 km from Kommamuru will be developed in the North Buckingham Canal.

The first ever educational institute in Captial Amaravati is going to start shortly. Amravati campus of VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology) will begin its classes from July 19. The campus will start with 830 students from AP and other states. These include engineering 660, M.Tech 120, and PhD students 50.

The 'VIT', which is based in Vellore in Tamil Nadu, is the first institute to built its campus in Amravati. The government has allotted 200 acres to Ainavolu, about 2 km away from the temporary secretariat complex in Velagpudi. Buildings have been built in 100 acres in the first phase. On 3rd November last year, Chief Minister Chandarbabu Naidu, laid the foundation stone for VIT. Construction work began on December 7th. From then onwards construction is going on in brisk pace. Class rooms, computer labs, laboratories, library and hostel blocks are being constructed.

A total of 13 classrooms, 3 computer centers, an electronics lab, mathematics lab and physics labs are being constructed in Amaravati Campus. Free WiFi facility will be provided throughout the campus. The WiFi facility is also going to be set up on buses that bring students to the campus.

A total of 660 students have already been admitted in B.Tech, where the branches are CSE, CSE (Specialist-Data Analytics) and CSE (Specialization Network Security), along with electrical, electronics and mechanical branches.

56 faculty members are appointed to teach them effectively.

Steps are being made to make the infrastructure in Capital Amravati on par with international standars. In the end of this month, CRDA and ADC are going to call tenders for the important works. It is estimated that their value will be between Rs. 9,000 crores to Rs. 10,000 crores.

These tasks will be divided into multiple packages and will be handed over to international and professional expertise. The CRDA has been working hard to take up the process of tenders as soon as possible, as many national and international monetary agencies and banks came forward for funding.

The capital city is divided into 13 zones to provide advanced infrastructure. However, now the tender will be called for 11 zones. These include zone of government complexes, including 10 zones with LPS layouts. The remaining 2 zones have been excluded from these tenders because the farmers are refusing to give them under land pooling.

Here are the facilities that would be developed:
The main roads in the capital, internal roads, water supply, water treatment plants, severage system, storm water system, power lines, underground cables, sewage, rainwater pipelines, electricity, communication, cooking gas and security arrangements will be the parts of the works.
