Krishna District Administration is getting ready to celebrate 67th Republic Day Celebrations at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada. This is the second consecutive time; Municipal Stadium is hosting Republic Day Celebrations. Governor ESL Narasimhan, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and other dignitaries will participate.

Krishna District Collector Babu, has directed officials to make necessary arrangements in the Municipal Stadium. Meanwhile, the parade rehearsals are started, under supervision of DIG Prasad Babu and APSP Inspector General RK Meena. The rehearsals will continue till January 24th. The contingents from Indian Army, CRPF, Fifth Battalion, NCC, Bharat Scouts and Guides and various schools will take part in the parade.

A single A/C sleeper ticket on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada route sold for Rs.3,000 which is sky high than the regular airfare. The Hyderabad-Vijayawada private bus fare has increased so much for the Sankranti festival season. The fares are almost equaled the airfare on the same route. Going by the tickets booked on any private bus from various cities in Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada seems to be the most-favoured destination.

The Vijayawada Region of Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) will ply as many as 1500 special services to clear Sankranti rush. The APSRTC has officially increased the fares on all categories by 50 per cent for the 1,500 Festival Specials. The buses includes Garuda, super luxury and deluxe buses.

Several schools and colleges were closed for Pongal holidays which prompted some private operators and RTC to run service from Hyderabad and Vijayawada to various destinations.

The Andhra Pradesh police will construct a ‘Tech-Tower’ at Mangalagiri, in Guntur district. It is going to build in an area of 5,000 sq.m. on the premises of the  Sixth Battalion. It is going to be constructed with an approx cost of Rs 10.67 crore. The ‘Tech-Tower’ will have Police Computer Services & Standardisation (PCS &S) and Police Communications Organisations (PCO).

The ‘Tech-Tower’, will be built in G+3 building, which will have a total plinth area of 34,100 sq ft with 8,525 sq ft in each floor.

The Ground Floor of the four-storeyed ‘Tech-Tower’ would house stores and a workshop of PCO along with SP Communication and staff.

The first floor will have exclusive PCS and S Wing with its state-of-the-art Data Centre, office space for IGP and other officials, Project Room, Development lab and T1, T2 and T3 labs, the press release said.

The second floor will have exclusive PCO wing, office space for IGP, DIG (Communications) and other officers, ministerial staff and PCO Training labs along with allocated space for night duty staff.

The third floor will consist of centre for command control, office space for officials, a conference hall and training labs for PCs, Class Rooms for PCS and other staff.

A total of 13300 crores of investments are ready for Amaravati. In the CII Partnership Summit, various MoU's are signed for investment in Amaravati.

World Trade Center Services, Noida, is signing an MoU to build a World Trade Centre with an investment of Rs 800 crore at the new capital city of Amaravati.

Housing and Urban Development Corporation (Hudco) will provide a loan of Rs 7,500 crore to the Andhra Pradesh government to support the development of the proposed capital Amaravati. A memorandum of understanding on the same was signed on Monday.

Andhra Bank signed memorandum of understanding with the state government for providing Rs.5,000 crore loan for development of state capital Amaravati.

Also, an Australian coal mining has agreed to set up thermal power plant of 5,280 MW. This imported coal-based plant is likely to come up near Machilipatnam in Krishna district.
