The Guntur East police department is going to start iClick kiosks (Instant Complaint Logging Internet Kiosk). Citizens in Guntur East, can easily lodge complaints, without going to Police Station. This helps the citizens who are feeling shy to go to police station and give the complaint. iClick online system is going to clear all the barriers between the public and the police department.

Already this service is there in RTC bus stand and GGH. Plans are there to keep this facility near Guntur Railway Station too.

The process of this is very simple. The citizen can lodge complaint by using computers, scanners and personal assistants would be available in these iClick centers to help the public.

  • This would be same like ATM center. We have to select the language English/Telugu
  • There are three ways to lodge the complaint.
  • Writing on paper and scanning the content and lodging the complaint
  • Type and lodge the complaint
  • Sending a voice message

A confirmation receipt would come to the phone number provided. The complaint from iClick centers would be redirected to the district SP and police stations for action.

go-karting gannavaram

RTA (Regional Transport Authority), Vijayawada, is planning to construct go-karting track at Gananvaram. There is empty space left over near Gannavaram Driving track premises and RTA is planning to use this land. There are five acres available in the driving track premises and they are planning to use this land. The existing driving track is used for conducting tests to motorists for providing licenses for two wheelers, four wheelers. Approx. 250 applicants take the test here.

Go-Karting is a fun activity and it will also create revenue to the RTA department. Designs are prepared and seeking for the approval from higher authorities.

Currently there is one go-karting track in Vijayawada. ‘Go karting’ activity is picking up at ‘Adventura’, situated on the banks of river Krishna near Kankadurga Varadhi. They charge Rs.200 for six laps and Rs.50 for every extra lap. The length of the karting track is half a kilometre with 25 feet to 30 feet width for safe karting. There is also availability of twin karting for children.

Large number of book-lovers and children participated in the Walk for Books organised as part of the 27th Vijayawada Book Festival. The walk started from Press Club in Gandhinagar, which is flagged of by City Police Commissioner Gautham Sawang. ABN Andhrajyothi MD Radhakrishna, social worker G. Samaram, Dr Indla Subba Rao, noted writer Y Lakshmi Prasad were among those who walked up to the book festival venue Swaraj Maidan. Around 200 school and college students also participated in the walk.

Raising slogans on Telugu language, and carrying the Placards and banners, children walked through Eluru Road and Museum Road and reached Swaraj Maidan, where the 27th Vijayawada Book Festival was being conducted. The rally ended with a meeting at the venue of the book festival, where speakers conveyed the importance of reading books.

As per the schedule, Mahesh Babu's Brahmotsavam Movie Shooting has been done yesterday in Vijayawada. Director Srikanth Addala and cinematographer Rathnavelu visited the city today morning to check the locations at Prakasham Barrage. Some Drone camera shots are done today on Prakasam Barrage and also near Indrakeeladri, Kanakadurga temple.

It is already know that Superstar Mahesh Babu ‘s forthcoming family entertainer movie “Brahmotsavam” is based on the backdrop of Vijayawada City. Actresses Samantha, Pranitha and Kajal Agarwal are playing the female lead roles. It is not yet known whether Mahesh Babu will take part in the shoot at Vijayawada Schedule.

The five-day Bhavani deeksha viramana concluded on a grand note at Sri Durga Malleswara Swamivarla Devasthanam at Indrakeeladri. With ‘poornahuti’ at yagasaala near Sivalayam on Indrakeeladri at around 11 a.m, It marked the end of Bhavani Deeksha relinquishment.

Thousands of Bhavani devotees, after taking a holy dip in the Krishna River, visisted the Kanaka Durga temple and offered special pujas to the goddess. A huge ‘homagundam’ constructed on Arjuna Veedhi was used by the devotees to deposit their ‘Irumudi’.

During the five days of the ritual, it is estimated around 5.5 lakh devotees had darshan of the goddess. Around 1.5crore revenue has fetched from the hundi.
