The Malaysian government on Friday came forward for extending support for setting up of medium and Small scale industries in Andhra Pradesh and decided to establish a fourth generation technology park in 100 acres of land in Amaravati. Under the first phase, about 30 to 40 industries Will be established in the proposed park at an investment of Rs.350 Crore.

An agreement to this effect Will be entered between India and Malaysian governments during the Scheduled visit of the Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak to India in April in the presence of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A delegation from MalaySia Called on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at the Interim Government Complex on Friday and gave him a presentation over the industries to be set up in Amaravati.

The Malaysian industry-government group for high power technology (MIGHT) will act as a facilitator to set up the industries in the State. As part of fourth generation technology park, MIGHT would develop a cluster to establish recycling plates and packing industries. Farmers cultivating paddy particularly in twin Godavari, Krishna and Guntur districts will get an additional income as the industries use the biodegradable material including haystack. Waste of sugarcane and maize will also be utilised in the industries.

Stating that the biodegradable products have a 10 billion dollars market in Europe and 300 billion dollars market in the USA, the Malaysian delegation informed that they are beginning their journey from Amaravati and will spread across India.

The Chief Minister said that he was very much impressed With coast side road in Malaysia and had asked the then Indian Prime Minister AB Vajpayee for developing such an infrastructure in India.

Taking an inspiration from Andhra Pradesh state government's initiative on youth empowerment, some engineering graduates who established their own startup companies without waiting for tech jobs excelled in their sectors by providing employment to a large number of youth. These youth met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at Velagapudi Secretariat on Friday and thanked him for encouraging startup companies in the state by providing incentives.

Interacting with the youth, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that they should come out with innovative and novel ideas to achieve better results. He said that the state government would encourage startup companies and provide skill development programmes for youth. He said now it is time for IT plus and Internet of things in all sectors.

Some youth informed the Chief Minister that they are confident to emerge as industrialists with the encouragement provided by the state government. They explained about their startups including get-my-tailor, getmy-books, hire puppy, glosy trends.

China-based Shenzhou City Institute is interested in taking part in the Machilipatnam Port development and construction activity which is planned by the Machilipantam Area Development Authority (MADA). A delegation of Shenzhou City Institute visited Machilipatnam and other places on Sunday and Monday and evinced interest to file tenders for the mega project.

The delegation met Krishna district collector Babu Aat the collector's camp office in Vijayawada. The Collector has explained to the team about the objectives of MADA. He told them that there are plenty of opportunities in AP Capital City for development and investments.

CENTRAL CABINET APPROVES SPECIAL ASSISTANCE FOR ANDHRA PRADESH, INCUNDING OF

The Central Government will provide special assistance measure to Government of Andhra Pradesh, which would make up for the additional Central share the State might have received during 2015-16 to 2019-20, if the funding of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) would have been shared at the ratio of 90:10 between the Centre and the State. The special assistance will be provided by way of repayment of loan and interest for the Externally Aided Projects (EAPs) signed and disbursed during 2015-2016 to 2019-20 by the State.

Funding of 100% of the remaining cost of the irrigation component only of the Polavaram project for the period starting from 1.4.2014, to the extent of the cost of the irrigation component on that date. Andhra Pradesh Government will execute the project on behalf of Government of India. However, the overall coordination, quality control, design issues, monitoring, clearances related issues etc. are to be dealt by the Polavaram Project Authority of Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation.
