Amaravati the new capital of Andhra Pradesh is going to carry on its historical legacy. Andhra Pradesh government has decided to name all the roads, junctions, parks, buildings after historical figures, kingdoms and Buddhist sites. A committee of experts, along with School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada and National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad; are exploring the names to preserve the rich cultural heritage in the new Amaravati.
Already there are many spots named of historical names in the Amaravati Region. These include Acharya Nagarjuna University, Nagarjuna Konda etc..
