The Guntur district administration is making elaborate arrangements for the convenience of the devotees visit Sri Trikoteswara Swamy temple at Kotappakonda on the occasion of Maha Sivaratri on February 24. More than five lakh devotees are expected to visit the temple on the occasion of the Maha Sivaratri.

The district collector Kantilal Dande and Guntur rural S.P. Narayan Naik have already reviewed the arrangements for the ensuing festivities. Assembly Speaker Dr Kodela Siva Prasada Rao inspected the works. He said that the government will develop hill shrine Kotappakonda as temple tourism centre. He said that the government will provide ropeway facility to the hillock of the temple soon and added that if it is developed, it will attract more devotees. ZooPark was already set up at Kotappakonda.

The Speaker will present silk robes to Lord Siva on the occasion of Maha Sivaratri. The Devasthanam authorities are constructing a Siva Lingam on the hilock of the temple and making necessary arrangements. They have already set uppandals for the convenience of the devotees.

Trikoteswara Swamy temple executive officer KSrinivasa Rao said "We are making all arrangements for the convenience of the devotees to visit the temple on the occasion of Maha Sivaratri. We will distribute free laddus and drinking Water to the devotees. RTC will ply buses from the temple to hillock of the temple, in addition to over 150 special buses.

The Devasthanam authorities will start special pujas from 2am on the festival day.

The Vijaywada city police closed the road from Kanakadurga temple toll gate junction to Kumaripalem centre for 30 days due to road repairs being taken up by the National Highway Authority (NHA) Officials as part of the Durga temple fly-over construction works from Wednesday midnight onwards.

In a press release here on Wednesday, city Police Commissioner D Gautam Sawang said that people, who want to travel towards Vidyadharapuram and Ibrahimpatnam from bus station, they should pass via BRP Road, Panja Centre, Chittinagar, YV Rao Estate, CVR Flyover, Sitara Junction.

He said commuters, who come to Vijayawada from Ibrahimpatinam, should pass via Gollapudi Centre, Sitara Junction, CVR Fly-over, Milk Factory, Chittinagar, Panja Centre and reach KR Market Junction. He said another route is YV Rao Estate, Pipula Road, Singh Nagar fly-over and BRTS Road for entering the city.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu offered break fast to Sichuan Province team of officials at a private hotel on his way to Mumbai in vijayawada on Wednesday. He interacted with the delegation and explained the investment opportunities and importance of Amaravati capital city and spent few minutes with Sichuan delegation led by Vice Governor Liu Jie.

Collector Babu.A, held a meeting with authorities of Vijayawada Airport on the issue of according permission to provide land for HCL Technologies in Kesarapalli village of Gannavaram mandal.

District Collector on Wednesday visited lands of APIIC in Kesarapalli village along with representatives of HCL Technologies. He said that he had a meeting with airport authorities as permission of Airport Authority of India was necessary to allot lands near to airport.

Babu said a proposal was under consideration to allot lands to HCL technologies and directed revenue and APIIIC officials to prepare proposals on allotment of lands.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday made a strong case for using digital technologies to empower the common man.

Nadella later launched a slew of India-centric initiatives, including a platform to connect semi-skilled workers with employers. The technology gianti also launched a lite' version of its video interaction platform Skype.

"We can celebrate technology, but if it doesn't truly empower every Indian and every Indian organisation to achieve more...We would have achieved nothing," he said. The global giant introduced the 'Sangam' platform, which is based on the world's largest professional networking site LinkedIn, also owned by the company, which will help the semi-skilled workers get job opportunities.

Naidu was also at hand to elaborate on this, and talked about how Andhra Pradesh is a "cloud-first state". Kaizala, which is a productivity tool that includes chat, tasks, groups, and a variety of actions, has been implemented by the Andhra Pradesh government across various departments.

The Chief Minister said that over 62,000 police officers in Andhra Pradesh were connected via Kaizala, which was being used to generate realtime on the ground data, and he added that it worked well on basic Android handsets, even on 2G connections.

"Ideas like this enable real-time governance," said Naidu, adding that his goal is to make the state one of the top three in India by development by 2022, and the number one by 2029.

"We Want to create 14.4 million jobs - LinkedIn has shown the way and we will sign up right away," he quipped, referring to Project Sangam. "With the Aadhaar, the finger is enough to transact anything, from health to banking." Naidu added. As of now, he continued, the state of Andhra Pradesh has deployed 10 lakh IoT devices to give real time data, and he told the audience that Andhra Pradesh officials can access a real-time dashboard to see information not just for their own department but with sharing of information to give abroader picture.
