Thick fog delayed the movement of flights at Gannavaram Airport. Air India flights between Vijayawada and Delhi and Spice Jet services between Vijayawada and Hyderabad and Vijayawada and Bengaluru were delayed. The services are expected to be delayed in the coming days also due to fog. No services are cancelled, but only delayed. All the morning services are expected to be late by two to three hours. Visibility was poor in the morning and the situation did not improve till afternoon.
For a safe landing or takeoff, the visibility should be clear up to 1,500 metres. Right now it is not visible even for a small distance of 15 meters in the morning.
